Arcadia - QMU London Banner

A leading university in London's East End

Queen Mary's compact campus is a rare find in London, where it is unusual to not have to commute to class. Its location in the East End is an area known for its multicultural restaurants, shops, and markets including Spitalfields, Brick Lane, and Columbia Road - places to mix and mingle with the locals. You’ll taste (literally!) the true essence of twenty-first-century London. The university's wide array of disciplines makes it a popular option for students who need to take classes across multiple departments. Queen Mary attracts many students from around the world, so you will enjoy an international flavor on campus, adding hugely to your academic and social experience.

  • Arcadia offers three study options at Queen Mary:
  1. Courses: Enroll in four classes from the general course catalog. You may also participate in a specialized course track in the School of English and Drama.
  2. Internship: Replace one Queen Mary course with an internship through Arcadia - add international professional experience to your resume. See the Internship Placement Guide for information about placement details.
  3. Independent Study: Replace one Queen Mary course with your own research project which you complete under an Arcadia faculty supervisor - another excellent achievement for your resume.

  • Queen Mary is part of the Russell Group which represents 24 leading UK universities committed to maintaining the very best research, an outstanding teaching and learning experience, and unrivaled links with business and the public sector.

  • You'll find your niche on-campus through the Students’ Union, home to more than 60 clubs, societies, and sports teams and also offering volunteering opportunities, food outlets, bars, and an excellent gym.

  • The Sunday Times Good Universities Guide 2021 named Queen Mary the second most inclusive university in the Russell Group. The guide's authors note that “Queen Mary continues to prove that social inclusion and academic success are not mutually exclusive.”
