Innovative, practical courses in downtown Sydney

A vibrant leader in research and innovation, the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is ranked the #1 young university in Australia. You can study in nine faculties and enjoy state-of-the-art facilities, thoughtful group work areas, and study/lounge areas all around campus. Are you a budding journalist, designer, business, or marketing executive? University of Technology Sydney (UTS) has one of the most competitive communications and journalism programs in Australia and is located in the heart of Sydney's media district. With Arcadia, you can also choose to take an Internship Placement while at UTS, to gain knowledge and practical experience while you study - boost that resume!

UTS is also an AACSB-accredited Business School, a leader in technology courses, and an institution that is renowned for its practice-based approach. UTS offers the most hands-on experience possible and exposure to cutting-edge technology so that you develop knowledge and skills valued by employers.

Under its purpose-built 'sticky' campus concept, UTS has installed study/lounge areas throughout campus to look like mini living rooms. Additionally, there are group work areas equipped with smart boards, plasma screens, and touchscreen projectors. Such innovations have helped UTS gain acclaim from the Five Stars for Excellence in Higher Education awarded by the QS Rankings, which includes five stars for employability, engagement, facilities, innovation, and internationalization.

  • Internship Placement options include: Advertising; architecture & landscape architecture; arts; business operations (including HR); entrepreneurial start-ups; environment & sustainability; film & TV; financial services; health; hospitality; journalism; law; marketing; non-governmental organizations; politics; psychology; public relations; sport; and theatre. The Placement Information and Field Guide outlines more placement details.

  • You'll have a wide course choice, including a unique, multidisciplinary approach to the social sciences, which is particularly engaging for those fulfilling general education requirements.

  • You can take advantage of state-of-the-art sports and exercise facilities on campus.

  • Many UTS lecturers are leaders in their areas of expertise, and many are active in professional practice - you’ll be exposed to the most relevant and up-to-date knowledge and skills in your field.

  • With a location in the very heart of Sydney, only minutes from the Central Railway Station and Darling Harbour, the classroom buildings are interspersed with office buildings, restaurants, and shops.

  • The UTS Hatchery is an incubator where students from all faculties and degrees come together to develop a solution to a problem that is feasible, viable, and desirable. The program engages students with mentors and coaches from industry-leading organizations.
