Exciting cultural opportunity whatever your level of Spanish

If you want to experience Spain and its multi-faceted culture, while improving your Spanish language both inside and outside the classroom, this program is for you. The Arcadia Granada Center offers this innovative study abroad program in cooperation with the Universidad de Granada and its world-renowned Centro de Lenguas Modernas (CLM).

  • Cornerstone Course: To anchor your experience in Granada, you will take a course on Spain's diverse socioeconomic cultural landscape, focusing on its recent transformations linked to international migration. In addition, you'll take four courses at the CLM.

  • Immerse yourself in Spanish language and culture: The CLM is one of the best university institutes in the world for students seeking to learn or improve their Spanish and learn about Spain. Its setting in Granada is perfect – a historic small, friendly city filled with Spanish and international students. You will take a Spanish language course the level of which is determined by a language test during orientation at the CLM. In addition, you can choose from a wide variety of courses, some taught in English, others in Spanish such as Spanish culture, art, history, politics, economics, business, music, geography, and more.

  • Optional pre-session Spanish: Intensive course available before the program start date for an additional fee.

  • Internship opportunity: Depending on your level of Spanish, you can take an internship option at the CLM, with placements in education, business and health centers. A 15-hour academic seminar is included to reflect on the experience with your instructor.

  • Virtual Arcadia Internship: Complete an internship placement arranged by Arcadia that allows you to work virtually and earn academic credit alongside your CLM courses. See the Internship Placement Guide for information about placement possibilities, including organization locations throughout the world.

  • Excursions: Activities, events, and site visits organized by local staff help you to learn outside the classroom and truly make the most of your experience. Granada's signature excursion, embedded in the cornerstone course, takes students to Morocco for an experience through an academic lens.
