Why France?
The World Endeavors Summer Study in France – Université Catholique de l’Ouest program in Angers is the perfect place for students hoping to improve their French while having a new cultural experience. Students live in Angers and focus intensively on studying the French language at the Université Catholique de l’Ouest. This program is the perfect opportunity to use your summer vacation to learn or increase your fluency in French while being immersed in the local language and culture.

Live in Angers, France
Angers is a historic city with a thoroughly modern perspective, located in the world-famous Loire Valley. The city is home to a beautiful cathedral and the Château d’Angers, a castle dating back to the ninth century. The other châteaux of the Loire Valley are nearby, making Angers the ideal home base for exploring the dramatic history of France. A variety of concerts, theater performances, and festivals occur in town, and the city has public basketball, volleyball, and tennis facilities. An assortment of museums showcase several centuries’ worth of local art. The city itself is small enough that students find it easy to get around on foot and discover their own favorite restaurants and cafés, yet large enough that all the amenities students need can be easily found.
 
Program Snapshot

Academics : The summer program is an intensive language, grammar, and comprehension course. There are three month-long summer sessions in July, August, or September. Students may choose to attend one, two, or all three sessions. No prior experience with the French language is required.

Housing and Participant Life : Housing for our Summer Study in France – Université Catholique de l’Ouest program is determined by the specific program timeframe selected. For the July and August terms, students live in university dorm-style housing. Lunch is provided for students on campus. In September, students live with local host families within easy reach of campus by foot or public transportation.
