Interns can expect to work side by side with local colleagues, receive direction from a manager or staff member, and behave just as one would in a real job. On weekends or after work hours, interns engage in a host of activities depending on each participant’s tastes. Interns share meals with new friends or host family members, take in cultural events, explore the city, or even take day or weekend trips outside of the area. World Endeavors provides a list of possible activities in the area and the World Endeavors local coordinator can also function as an ever present guide and ambassador to the area.

After the Velvet Revolution, Prague was elevated to a status along that of bigger European cities such as Rome and Paris, but is still quite a hidden gem to be discovered. The city offers a rich cultural life enjoyed through museums, art galleries, festivals, concerts, theaters and pubs. Prague’s central location also provides the perfect launch pad for weekend excursions to other European destinations such as Budapest, Vienna, Berlin, Bratislava and more!

Program Snapshot
Language Training: Czech language proficiency is not required in order to participate in this program. For interns wishing to learn some Czech during their time abroad, 20 hours of Czech lessons are included during the first two weeks of the program in conjunction with the internship placement. Classes are small and are offered at a variety of levels to suit interns’ needs.
Housing: World Endeavors interns in Prague live in single or shared rooms in shared apartments, equipped with kitchen and bathroom facilities. Accommodations are situated on a quiet street, only 15 minutes from the historical city center.
Dates: Internships are available year round, and each placement is customized for the participant. This means that World Endeavors interns can choose the start date and duration of their internship, as well as the field. Due to holidays, traditional vacation schedules, and seasonal work availability, there might be better times than others to intern in a specific location or in a specific field. Our advisors work with interns to ensure that their timeframe works adequately with the internship site. This communication is a key to creating a successful internship placement.
Duration: Generally, the minimum duration for interning in Prague is 1 month and, due to visa constraints, the maximum duration is 3 months. Contact World Endeavors if you would like to go for duration outside of this.
