Why Germany?
Germany’s global influence and cultural richness date back millennia. From the Kaiserdom of Prussia to the economic hub of the current global landscape, Germany has proven itself a great political influence. The significance of German art and philosophy can also be seen woven throughout the history of Western civilization – from Bach to Beethoven and Goethe to Kant. Art and history aside, Germany’s natural wonders and medieval embellishments capture the imagination of many travelers. With the tall peaks of the Alps, meandering cobblestone streets, and castles straight out of the Grimm brothers’ stories, Germany is ripe for exploration. Well-rounded by the modern architecture and hip clubs of Munich and Berlin, Germany maintains a solid prominence as a major travel destination.

Live in Berlin, Germany
There is never a dull moment in Germany’s capital and largest city. Divided at the end of World War II until the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, this modern metropolis is a central European hub for culture, science, media, and politics. With its extensive transportation system of trains, trams, and buses, students can easily access all the city has to offer. They can watch the talented street performers, visit the Berlin Zoo, taste the ever-popular Currywurst (a standard German bratwurst topped with a curry-based ketchup), and gain extensive knowledge on the city’s storied past. Fans of architecture will enjoy the eclectic assortment of buildings while those interested in spending sunny afternoons outside can frequent a number of parks and green space. Anyone keen to peruse museums and monuments will have plenty of options at their fingertips. No matter their interests, visitors to Berlin will surely find entertainment around every corner.
