Program Description:

UQ Banner
Study for one or two semesters as part of your home institution's degree at The University of Queensland (UQ), one of Australia's premier learning and research institutions.

Choose from more than 4000 high-quality courses, with many offering theoretical or practical components unique to UQ.

Many courses focus on Australian topics or offer field trips to unique locations in South East Queensland, while others promote group project work or research opportunities.

UQ ranks in the world’s top universities, as measured by several key independent rankings, including the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities (NTU Ranking) (33), CWTS Leiden Ranking (35*), the U.S. News Best Global Universities Rankings (36), QS World University Rankings (43), Academic Ranking of World Universities (47), and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (53). UQ has also won more national teaching awards than any other Australian university.

UQ’s 311,000 graduates are a dynamic network of global alumni spanning more than 184 countries and include approximately 17,000 PhDs. More than 55,000 current students, including more than 20,000 postgraduate students and about 21,000 international students from 137 countries study across UQ’s three beautiful campuses in South East Queensland.

UQ’s six faculties, eight globally recognised research institutes and research centres attract an interdisciplinary community of 2500 scientists, social scientists and engineers who champion research excellence and continue UQ’s tradition of research leadership. Some of UQ's research highlights include Gardasil®, the cervical cancer vaccine; Triple P – Positive Parenting Program; world-leading MRI technology; discovering the new disease HBSL; and developing microalgae as a green-power biofuel. UQ is also the first major university in the world to be powered by 100 per cent renewable energy, through its A$125 million solar farm.

UQ is also one of only three Australian members of the global Universitas 21; a founding member of the Group of Eight (Go8) universities; a member of Universities Australia; and one of only three Australian charter members of the global edX consortium for massive open online courses (MOOCs).

*CWTS Leiden Ranking 2023 measured by the Impact indicator P(top 1%), ordered by P(top 1%) with fractional counting used.
