The China Law School is an educational, three-week study abroad program from CBL International hosted in Shanghai and Beijing, China. Being one of the fastest growing financial centers of the world, Shanghai is sometimes referred to as the New York of China. While Beijing is the political center of China where important meetings and decisions are made. It's a city with heritage and is also the capital of China.
This short-term program introduces students to the basic law and business structure of China. You wil receive instruction and lectures by highly qualified professors, visits to successful law firms, businesses, and government institutions, and partake in trips to tourist attractions and historical landmarks. It's a well-balanced program that offers an in-depth insight into the law & business culture of China from various angles and perspectives.
Lectures will be hosted in top ranked education institutions in China, namely Tonji University in Shanghai and Tsinghua University in Beijing. Lecture topics will include Intercultural Management, How to Setup a Business in China, China Taxation including Corporate Tax, Cross-Border Trade, and International Taxation Related to China, and Intellectual Property Rights.
Beyond what you'll learn in in the classroom, you'll have the chance to visit local businesses, law firms, and institutions in China such as Thomson Reuters, Deloitte, Fedex, European Chamber of Commerce, and more. Aside from receiving a company tour, you'll have the chance to meet and interact with CEOs, managers, and lawyers. It's really the only way to understand the day-to-day law and business operations in China.
The program is split into two segments where you will spend two weeks in Shanghai, and one week in Beijing. During your stay in Shanghai, you'll have access to the infamous Big Bus Tours where you can travel to various tourist attractions and landmarks such as the Yu Gardens, the Shanghai Bund, and more at your own pace. In Beijing, we've already planned your trip to the infamous Great Wall of China, one of the 7 wonders of the world, and the Ming Tombs. During your free time, explore the Forbidden City, the home to prior Emperors of China and the Tiananmen Square, which are both in the middle of the Beijing city. At night, check out the local night scene or mingle with your newly made friends and classmates.
