Volunteer Abroad with EF

Giving Back - Globally

Volunteering abroad is a great way to see the world and to give back to the global community.  There's really no better way to see the world: you'll be working with a local organization to contribute to the local community, so you'll develop a unique relationship with your destination city that wouldn't be available to the average tourist.  Even better, EF combines volunteering with intense language training, so you'll quickly improve your language skills both in and outside the classroom.  If you're someone committed to community service, you'll find that the time you spend as a volunteer abroad with EF helps you to learn a language, experience a new culture, and even earn college language credits.

In the past, EF Volunteer Abroad opportunities have included the Cruz Roja (Red Cross), environmental organizations, and community programs for children.  EF will do its best to match you with a program that fits your interests and language abilities.

Stress-Free Study Abroad

If the thought of planning a semester abroad or finding a volunteer position stresses you out, you're in luck.  EF will take care of every detail, from finding you a relevant volunteer opportunity to arranging your flights to providing travel insurance through one of our partners. You can choose to live either in a residence with other EF students, or in one of our carefully-selected host families.  The host family option comes with its own meal-plan - you'll be provided with home-cooked meals.  The EF staff also plans a number of cultural excursions and group-bonding activities, and you'll have the opportunity to pursue elective courses in your area of interest.
