MULTI-COUNTRY STUDY ABROAD

EUROPE MAP


SUMMIT STUDY ABROAD - EUROPE - Session A-2: June 11th - July 13th, 2015

SESSION A-2:  Begin in Barcelona
  • Session A-2:  June 11th - July 13th, 2015: Barcelona, Paris, London, Berlin 
  • All majors welcome!
  • Credits: up to 6 academic credits

PROGRAM DESIGN:  
  • Starting with 2-3 weeks on campus at our host university, students will complete the core academic portion of our Summit program in Barcelona. After completing these 2-3 weeks on campus, we will lead the students on an educational journey visiting companies and organizations as we travel across Europe: visiting Paris, London and Berlin.   

COURSE OPTIONS:
  • For the upcoming summer study abroad program in Europe, students can choose up to two of the following courses, for a total of six semester credits

   Global Studies:
  • INT 320: Global Studies: Debates, Trends and Current Issues in the International Political Economy

   Business focus:
  • BUS 328:  International Business
  • MGT 321:  Management - Cross Cultural Management
  • ENT 329:  Global Entrepreneurship (self guided study)
  • BUS 324: Introduction to the European Union - Multidisciplinary perspective with an emphasis on business issues

   Political focus
  • POL 324: Introduction to the European Union - Multidisciplinary perspective with an emphasis on political issues
  • INT 320: Global Studies: Debates, Trends and Current Issues in the International Political Economy

   Communications focus:
  • COM 320: Communications - Cross Cultural Communications 

   Society focus:
  • EUR 324:  Introduction to the European Union
  • SOC 324: Introduction to the European Union - Multidisciplinary perspective with an emphasis on social issues

   History focus:
  • Suggested course:  EUR 324 "Introduction to the European Union" This course will look quite strongly at the history of Europe, focusing heavily on events from WWII until now.   The European Union recently won the Nobel Peace Prize, and has undergone the longest stretch of peaceful existence in modern history (prior to forming the EU, France and Germany fought 3 major wars over the previous 70 years).   In this course, we will look closely at European history, and will attempt to bring history to life by giving you assignments to explore this history through interviewing and interacting with Europeans as we cross the continent over 7+ weeks of travel. 

   Psychology focus:  
  • Suggested course:  COM 320 "Cross Cultural Communications": This course will look at one of the key issues in modern Psychology: that of cultural identity.
