About the University of Bristol

The University of Bristol is one of the most popular and successful universities in the UK, ranked in the world’s top 50 in the QS World University Rankings 2020.

The university was founded in 1876 as University College, Bristol but has roots tracing as far back as 1595. It was the first higher education institution in England to admit women on an equal basis to men.

Nestled in the hills of South West England, it has its own unmistakable identity. Bristol is small enough to remain friendly but large enough to offer lots of interest and excitement. Voted best city life in all of Britain by 20,000 university students across the country.
