Program Description:
School in Morocco

For thousands of years, Morocco has benefited from the cross-cultural exchange of Berber, Arab, African, and European peoples, customs, gastronomy, learning.

Today, Morocco is home to 34 million, and is one of the most stable and moderate constitutional monarchies in the Arab World.

Located 150 miles south of Morocco's northern tip, where the Bou Regreg river meets the Atlantic Ocean, Rabat is the nation’s capital, and home to just over 1 million "Maghariba" (Moroccans). By Moroccan standards, Rabat is a fairly young city, having been established in 1146. Our partner university, Mohammed V University, was founded in 1957 as the first modern university in Morocco.

This program is designed for students with proficiency in Arabic, who adhere to the Middlebury Language Pledge while they are abroad. The Pledge shows a commitment to linguistic immersion and is the key to students' successful language development and cultural integration.
