Program Overview

Your Business + Culture program in Buenos Aires allows you to explore international business across a broad selection of business courses and experiences, while diving into the city’s colorful neighborhoods, arts, and culinary scene. You’ll enroll in a combination of CIEE courses, host institution courses, and courses taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Beyond coursework, explore Buenos Aires through co-curricular and extracurricular activities like strolling through the colorful streets of La Boca, sampling local cuisine at traditional markets and cafés, and visiting the headquarters of Mercado Libre to examine Latin America’s leading tech-driven e-commerce business. Living and learning here means stepping into a city where history, art, and entrepreneurship shape every experience.

Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Buenos Aires will open doors for you to explore Argentina’s rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.  

Samples of excursions and activities: 

  • Visit a historic and productive estancia to understand how cattle raising and rural enterprises operate in Argentina’s Pampas, balancing long-standing traditions with contemporary practices 
  • Enjoy an overnight trip to Salta where you will visit a vineyard in the scenic Cafayate region to learn how extreme altitude, climate, and terroir shape wine production 
  • Experience the Delta of Tigre as you navigate into the Paraná Delta, observe the local landscapes, and indulge in a shared local meal

Academics

CIEE Buenos Aires: Study in the heart of Buenos Aires in the lively neighborhood of Recoleta, well-connected to parks, cafés, restaurants, and shops. CIEE Buenos Aires features modern classrooms, comfortable lounge areas, and a charming outdoor space.

Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT): University Torcuato di Tella is one of the most prestigious universities in Argentina and Latin America. It is known for its high-quality standards and reputation among international university’s rankings. It has a broad range of academic offerings, with 11 graduate courses and more than 30 postgraduate courses. With around 10,000 students and a state-of-the-art campus, its study areas include architecture and urban studies, arts, political science and international studies, law, economics, education, social and historical studies, math and statistics, business, and design.  

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by CIEE in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the CIEE academic calendar.

Internships

GAIN Travel Grants - Up to $1,500 toward travel costs guaranteed to students with a FAFSA SAI of $10,000 or less. Higher should still apply!

Gilman Go Global Grants - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $1,000 guaranteed to Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship applicants.

Merit-Based Scholarships - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $750/summer awarded to students deomonstrating high academic achievement.
