Benefits of a semester abroad in Bali

The tropical island of Bali provides a unique setting for your study abroad semester. The Bali International Program on Asian Studies (BIPAS) is the largest and the only truly international study program in Bali with students typically coming from 10-15 different countries. Bachelor and Master level courses are available. Our on-site Destination Manager and interns supports students and organize workshops, excursions, and extracurricular activities.

Udayana University - Bali, Indonesia

Indonesia is the 4th most populous country in the world. Udayana University, or Unud, is among the top twenty of the approximately 2,000 institutions of higher education in the country.

Udayana University is the biggest and most renowned university in Bali. Founded in the early 1960's by the Ministry of Education, the university hosts 13 faculties and educates over twenty thousand students. The majority of international students come from Asia, European, and North American countries, but all are welcome to participate. Indeed, the university has a comprehensive international network and its different faculties partner with universities in all continents.

Courses and Studying

Asia Exchange students take part in the BIPAS program in Bali, which is taught in English. The program is ideal for anyone interested in combining academics with unforgettable experiences in an exotic environment.

Master’s Courses in Bali

Three graduate (Master) level courses are also available. These courses can also be taken by Bachelor level students.

The program includes courses in business, economics, marketing, law, tourism, culture and languages. The courses include workshops and excursions. Credits are granted in ECTS points and they can be easily transferred to your degree. You can choose between 5–7 courses.

The goal of the program is to increase the students’ knowledge of Indonesia and Asia in an international and stimulating environment. In accordance with the lecturers’ diverse international backgrounds, the program challenges students to a more universal, analytic and interdisciplinary way of thinking and learning.

Tuition Fee

The fee for non-European students is 2880 USD per semester starting in 2017. The registration fee is 97 USD.

The tuition fee covers:
  • Guaranteed placement in the program within a week of sending in the application
  • Application process
  • Tuition
  • AE’s guidance and services before, during and after the program
  • An official acceptance letter and an official transcript from the Asian university
  • A local contact person at the Asian university
  • Orientation at the destination

Travelling to and from the destination and the accommodation are not included in the program fee. This gives students the possibility to organize their travels as they wish and explore Asia before and after the semester.

Asia Exchange helps with all the accommodation arrangements. If students don’t stay at prebooked dorms on campus, there is a large number of off-campus accommodation options available which cater to different budgets and preferences.

When paying the tuition fee, please notice that your bank may charge a service fee for an international bank transfer.
