The GREEN Program (TGP) is an award-winning experiential education program focused on our world's most pressing issues in sustainable development. Since 2009, our mission is to educate and empower future sustainability leaders through experiential education, responsible travel, and adventure. Today, our alumni represent 470 universities across 70 countries and are now making an impact at organizations such as The Environmental Protection Agency, National Geographic, NASA, Rivian, Boeing, Nike, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Google, and more.

Program Highlights/Description: The GREEN Program in Nepal, where rural development, renewable energy, and cultural immersion converge. This program highlights the transformative potential of solar microgrid systems in rural communities, offering an enriching experience that combines education, hands-on projects, a local homestay experience, and an exploration of Nepal's rich heritage.

Program highlights include:
 
  1. Learning about Solar Microgrid Systems and Rural Development: Dive into the world of renewable energy and sustainable development as you learn about solar microgrid systems and sustainable development in Nepal. Engage with experts and local communities to understand the vital role these systems play in bringing reliable electricity to remote rural areas, empowering communities, and fostering socio-economic growth.
  2. Installing a Solar Microgrid System in a Rural Village: Put theory into practice as you participate in a real-life project that will make a difference. Collaborate with local partners to install a solar microgrid system in a rural village lacking access to the grid. Witness firsthand the impact of renewable energy on daily life, healthcare, education, and local businesses
  3.  Local Homestay Experience: Immerse yourself in the warmth of Nepali hospitality through a local homestay experience. Live with a host family in a rural village and embrace their traditions, cuisine, and way of life. Forge connections with the community, gaining insights into their resilience, culture, and interconnectedness with the environment.
  4. Exploring UNESCO World Heritage Sites and Nepali Culture: Discover the rich tapestry of Nepali culture through visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites. Explore ancient temples, palaces, and stupas, learning about Nepal's history and architectural wonders. Engage with locals, partake in traditional festivities, and witness vibrant cultural performances.
  5. Capstone Project: Channel your passion and knowledge into a capstone project that addresses a pressing issue in sustainable development.
