Why Athena’s Quito?

Quito is the capital of Ecuador, a special country that features not only the equator line (you have to visit it!) but also the Amazon basin and the Galapagos Islands. With our program we make it easy for you to get immersed into the local culture through intensive Spanish language courses, homestays, and volunteer opportunities. The local staff are perhaps some of the friendliest people you will meet and truly make you feel at home the moment you meet them. For someone who wants a rich cultural experience, this program’s for you!

Volunteer Options
‘Giving back’ provides students with a wonderful opportunity to share some love in the world. If you’re staying for more than 4 weeks, you are encouraged to volunteer. Options include orphanages, animal shelters, schools and more!
Galapagos Islands
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: semester students may choose to participate in an optional trip to the Galapagos Islands. Big tortoises, finches, and other unique animals are waiting to meet you!

The School
Athena partners with Academia Latinoamericana de Espanol, a top quality, private, non-profit institution recognized by the Ecuadorian government. Students will be at the heart of Quito, in a beautiful colonial building with an interior patio, video room, comfortable classrooms, and more. Founded in 1989, the school is one of the language school pioneers in South America.
