Program Information

Tourism & Hospitality internships in Spain are perfect for those looking to hone their industry knowledge in some of the world’s most welcoming cities. Interns can expect to gain hands-on experience in a wide range of tourism related tasks, both customer and business facing. From liaising with local tourist vendors, providing exceptional customer service to people from all over the world, creating marketing content and business strategies, no two days are the same, as you explore all aspects of Spain’s thriving tourism and hospitality industry!

This program ranges from 2-24 weeks and has start dates every Monday throughout the year.

Your fully-hosted experience includes sourcing of your internship placement, personalization of your project plan, airport pick-up, orientation, accommodation, meals, and onsite student support. See our full list of fees and inclusions on our website:     
Eligibility Requirements

Suitable for students with at least one year of relevant university study in a related field, such as business, management, marketing, tourism, hospitality, commerce, etc. Participants with a background related to online marketing, accounting, sales, management, organization, communication and customer service are welcome. Recent graduates (within the past 24 months) may also apply.

This internship is conducted in either Spanish (if the intern speaks the language), or English (via a supervisor who speaks English, if the intern does not speak Spanish). However, interns should expect that a language barrier can still be encountered to a certain extent. Spanish-language classes are available.
 
Internship Details

Tourism & Hospitality internships in Spain are optimal for developing the well-rounded transferable skills required for a versatile career. Have fun gaining real-world experience which can relate to a range of opportunities, including administrative, sales, marketing, finance, management roles, and more. Come prepared to hone excellent customer service and communication skills as you learn. Interns can be placed with accommodation providers, tourism agencies, travel agencies or hotels, supporting front-of-house duties, reservation management, itinerary organization, event planning, customer service, promotional activities and more.

Possible Tourism & Hospitality internship placements opportunities include hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, tourism companies and youth hostels. Duties will vary based on the nature of your internship and your own specific skills. However, tasks can generally include:
  • Working with travel agents, travel advisors, tourism managers and developers,
  • Supporting the production of marketing materials,
  • Assisting with seasonal events,
  • Advising clients and customers,
  • Assisting with bookings and reservations, and
  • Contributing to marketing strategies, content and products.

Interns looking for experience in a specific field should include details on your application. These requests are accommodated wherever possible, though are subject to availability.

Check in with your academic advisor to understand if you can apply these transfer credits toward your degree at your home institution.

How to Apply

Apply for free: Complete an online application form via the Intern Abroad HQ website.
  • Select your start date and duration: All Intern Abroad HQ programs are available year-round and you can choose to intern for durations on this program ranging from 2 to 24 weeks.
  • Complete your registration: After you have been accepted on your chosen program, you can secure your place by paying the Deposit.
  • Pay your Balance: This is due 60 days before your program starts.

Need to make changes to your booking? You can make free unlimited changes to your destination, project and dates up until 60 days before you start.
