LGBTQ+ Histories and Global Travel in Amsterdam
This short-term summer program invites students to explore the histories, cultures, and contemporary experiences of LGBTQ+ communities in Amsterdam—one of the most queer-friendly cities in the world. Through site visits to landmarks such as the Homo monument, Anne Frank House, Resistance Museum, and Europe’s largest LGBTQ+ archive, students will engage with themes of identity, migration, resilience, and social justice. The course combines pre-departure learning with immersive experiences abroad, offering students opportunities to reflect on the intersections of history, community, and global travel. Designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind, this program is especially welcoming to LGBTQ+ students and others who may be underrepresented in study abroad.
GEO program fees cover tuition, housing, and some meals, excursions, books and course materials, local transportation passes, and on-site orientation. Insurance and a 24-hour emergency service are also included. For scholarship funding information, please visit our website's
