This Summer Study Abroad programme is designed for pre-medical and pre-health students who want to strengthen their scientific foundation in the heart of Europe. Based in Lille, France, students will earn 4 US academic credits through coursework in Biochemistry, supported by hands-on laboratory learning and guided academic enrichment activities that connect course concepts to real-world biomedical contexts.
Lille is a vibrant student city and a European hub for healthcare and life sciences, located near Belgium, Paris, and the North Sea. Through academic study, optional site visits, and cultural excursions, students gain insight into European scientific and research environments while preparing for future careers in medicine and health-related fields.
The programme is run in partnership with Learn International and UC Lille, with an official transcript issued by the University of Wyoming, and is open to students from across the US.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Over this
four-week summer programme (
May 20 – June 20, 2026), students study in Lille under the instruction of
UC Lille science faculty, supported by Learn International's on-site team. The programme combines rigorous academic coursework with hands-on engagement through laboratory work and academic enrichment experiences designed to complement the Biochemistry curriculum.
Students complete
Biochemistry (4 credits) with approximately
60 contact hours, including
~15 hours of laboratory work, reinforcing foundational science knowledge relevant to anatomy & physiology, microbiology, and pharmacology. Coursework emphasizes the application of biochemistry to human health and disease.
In addition to classroom and lab learning, the programme may include
guest lectures and
guided exposure to biomedical research and industry environments in and around Lille, as scheduling and availability permit. These experiences are designed to highlight real-world applications of biochemical science and introduce students to professional settings within the life sciences.

HOUSING INFORMATION
Students will live in
single rooms in student residence halls in Lille. Housing includes
shared kitchens and laundry facilities, a
pre-loaded university dining meal card, and a
local transportation pass for unlimited travel on Lille's Ilévia public transport network.
