Theatre in London

The London Theatre program is a Spring Quarter intensive study program offered every other Spring term. During the study term, you will attend live professional theatre performances, sometimes including mixed media concerts, opera, ballet, or modern dance. In addition to contemporary London theatre, you may elect to study performance with London theatre professionals, meet with guest speakers, and have ample free time to explore London’s museums and other historical sites. Finally, you will travel to Stratford-Upon-Avon, Bath, Stonehenge/Avebury, and Brighton. The program will be bi-sected with a week long break so that students may explore London and the United Kingdom, and pursue their own interests.

Students will also be expected to attend a few pre-departure meetings throughout winter term, the information for which they will receive after their acceptance. These meetings are required, and will be scheduled at a time when no students have class.

The application process for this program is competitive: GEO staff will review your application materials, and a decision about your enrollment will not be made until after the application deadline. In some cases, an interview is required. If your application requires an interview, you will be contacted with further details about this process after the application deadline. Early applications are encouraged. Successful applicants will be offered acceptance from GEO. Selection will be based on a holistic review of your application. This includes a review of your GPA, transcripts (including courses taken and in-progress), any additional requirements or prerequisites (see section "Additional Requirements"), and written statements.

GEO program fees cover tuition, housing, and some meals, excursions, books and course materials, local transportation passes, and on-site orientation. Insurance and a 24-hour emergency service are also included. For scholarship funding information, please visit our website's Scholarships page.
