Ghana to the World
Ghana to the World is a four-week program offered by the University of Ghana. During this program, you will be immersed in discussions on Africa-centered topics, and experience the vibrant and diverse regions in Ghana. You will learn from local experts about the modern technologies, cultural foundations and evolution, and community systems shaping current initiatives for social impact and transformation in Ghana.
As the capital of Ghana, Accra is well known for its traditional and contemporary arts, vibrant music scene, and bustling outdoor markets. Experience the welcoming hospitality of the Ghanaian people as you discover the wide variety of cultural events, festivals, and performances Accra has to offer.
Program Highlights:
- Participate in a service-learning project up to 30 hours
- Weekend and day excursions to museums, markets, national parks in multiple regions of Ghana
- Cultural activities such as Kente weaving, dance classes, pottery, bread making, tie and dye production
- Social activities such as live music and day-trip to local beach
GEO program fees for students cover tuition, housing (additional fee for homestay required in fall), excursions, books, some meals, course materials, and on-site orientation. Insurance and a 24-hour emergency service are also included. For information on scholarship funding, please visit the
