Program Overview

Your Quarter in Berlin program lasts up to 12.5 weeks and is designed for students from all academic backgrounds. You will enroll in a combination of CIEE courses and courses taught online through CIEE’s global academic partner, ASU. Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities while immersing yourself in German culture. Live and learn in Berlin!

Program Highlights

  • Academic Courses: Choose from CIEE courses and online courses delivered by CIEE’s global partner, ASU, that align with your academic major.   
  • Optional Internship Placements: Enhance your program with an optional for-credit internship that aligns with your career aspirations. 
  • Immersive Experiences: Participate in activities, excursions, study tours, and more that showcase your host city's culture, values, and local art, film, music, cuisine, and sports scenes.

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Berlin will open doors for you to explore Germany's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad. Samples of past excursions and activities:  

  • Take in spectacular views from the top of the Berlin TV Tower, the tallest building in Germany
  • Relish the city’s rich music scene from the concert halls of the Berlin Philharmonic to underground venues like SO36
  • Explore the past and future of game design at the Computer Games Museum and then try your hand at it in your coursework

Please note: Activities are based on past programs and subject to change at CIEE's discretion to adapt to local circumstances and participant feedback. Our goal when arranging activities is always to enhance your experience.

Minority Serving Institutions (MIS) Grant - $2,000/semester and $500/summer, guaranteed to all students attending MSIs.
