Program Overview

Your Quarter in Santiago program lasts 12 weeks and is designed for students from all academic backgrounds. You will enroll in a combination of CIEE courses and courses taught online through CIEE’s global academic partner, ASU. Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities while immersing yourself in Chilean culture. Live and learn in Santiago!

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Santiago will open doors for you to explore Chile's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.  

Samples of past excursions and activities:  

  • Experience the enchantment of Isla Negra as you step inside Pablo Neruda’s oceanfront home filled with treasures and coastal inspiration
  • Journey through the majestic Cajón del Maipo as you explore Andean valleys, mountain villages, and dramatic river canyons
  • Create authentic pomaire traditions as you craft clay pottery in a greda workshop and learn to prepare classic Chilean empanadas alongside local artisans

Please note: Activities are based on past programs and subject to change at CIEE's discretion to adapt to local circumstances and participant feedback. Our goal when arranging activities is always to enhance your experience.
