Work 20-30 hours per week in a professional internship matched to your interests and goals. Internships are available in both English and Spanish.

Your internship is paired with our Global Internship Seminar, with credit available depending on your internship hours.

Optional Spanish Classes

Interns can enroll in our Evening Spanish courses. These don't provide additional credit but add real value to your time abroad.

  • Interviews with Potential Host Organizations: you'll interview with selected companies, and once there's a mutual fit, your placement is confirmed
  • Orientation & Ongoing Support: a comprehensive orientation at the Expanish Study Center, plus regular check-ins throughout the program
  • Begin Your Summer Internship: start hands-on professional experience, alongside an evening Spanish course included in the program

FAQs About Interning Abroad in Barcelona

What is the class schedule for the Summer Internship program in Barcelona?

Spanish classes take place twice a week in the evening, Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Do I need a visa for the Summer Internship program in Barcelona?

If you are a U.S. citizen, you do not need a visa to study and intern in Barcelona for up to 90 days. If you plan to stay longer, you will need to apply for a student visa before traveling to Spain.

Where will I take my Spanish classes, and who will be in my class?

Your Spanish lessons are held at the Expanish Study Center in Barcelona, where you'll learn alongside other international students living and interning in the city.
